Unique Additions To Your Real Estate Listing

Nice home with well maintained front yard.Browse through real estate listings and you'll often feel that you're reading the same thing over and over again. Of course the basics need to be included, square footage, number of bed and bathrooms, etc., but from there why not try to set your home apart when listing it for sale?

Work with your listing agent to come up with some unique things to say about the property. What did you love most about living there? Was it walking to the nearby coffee shop on Saturday mornings? The way the light comes in the kitchen window in the evening? The smell of the rose bushes when they bloom in the spring? Try to give a potential buyer a taste of what it would be like to live there, and get them excited about calling the property "home".

Think through some of these additional questions to get your creative juices flowing:

  • What was most convenient about the layout of the house?
  • What feature could you not live without?
  • At what time of year was your home the prettiest from the outside? Why?
  • If you have children what do they love most about the home? About the backyard?
  • Describe something special about the neighborhood. You could mention a close-knit community, easy access to whichever stores or restaurants are nearby, or the great walking routes.

Your unique listing description will help home shoppers not just see a house, but envision a life there.
